Vic 39. Update on Cancer treatment

Just a quick update on my father, Vic Hughes 39. My dad was diagnosed with stage 2-3 stomach cancer last December. Since then he has undergone some treatment which has included chemo and infusions. Next week Fri 10 July, he undergoes surgery to remove the whole of his stomach. All going well, this should remove the cancer, to date, we think it has not spread.

He is doing well, ever the optimist, he is keeping very fit and has surprised the medical team with his fitness and resilience, more so after undergoing chemo with an unknown chest infection. I will keep you updated.

Vic, he is one of the toughest people I know. No matter what life has thrown at him, he’s always found a way to recover with humour and strength.

I know he has what it takes to tackle cancer with that same attitude. Please pass on my best wishes.

Thanks for the comments, I know it has meant a lot to him. My mum suffers with dementia but she is doing well and getting ready to help the old man when he comes out of hospital. He goes in tomorrow, 10 July, all going well he will be out in 14 days.
