    PPE issue

As we have all watched a TV and this issue comes to the fore time and time again I have to ask is this totally the government,s fault they must accept some degree of the blame but surely too must CEOs Of hospitals and managers of care homes they all saw this coming yet didn’t do anything about building up their stocks until it was too late,

Storming Norman during the gulf war knew what was coming he didn’t attack till he knew he had all the fighting men he needed and all the logistics in place to ensure success the same should have applied to every head of care homes,CEOs of hospitals and the government everyone saw this coming. We can only hope that people learn their lessons from this and take the appropriate action.

This is what’s happens when we farm out these contracts to manufacture these items to other countries because of cost, let us hope that this and successive governments learn their lesson and build our own factories to manufacture these items but I won’t hold my breath

Those dark satanic mills which supplied most of the world with cloth have gone for ever, unfortunately they have not been replaced with the modern equivilent, the skills have gone along with the logistical support, and so we are now dependant on other countries for much of our protective equipment.

    Re: PPE issue

Just listened to Michael Gove telling us that a ‘balanced’ judgement must be made on when to initiate the release of lockdown!

Can’t help wondering if that will be the same level of balanced judgement by our politicians which resulted in us having TOTALLY inadequate levels of PPE stocks in country at the start of our current debacle?

keith I will be the first one to slate government When they have done wrong however I think you can’t put the blame entirely on the government for lack of PPE, CEOs of hospitals and care home management must except a degree of the blame the trouble is we have become a nanny state and everyone expects someone else to do the job for them

After announcements regarding the lifting of some lockdowns across the planet, and in the inimitable words of Brian ‘Memory’ Lane, ‘The question is, will our electeds be the first to open up air routes into the U.K., thereby ensuring a renewal of the influx of unknown, untested foreigners from Covid-19 hotspots who can fill the empty beds in our, free to them, NHS hospitals?’

    Re: PPE issue

This was in the Daily Telegraph today

Millions of pieces of vital protective equipment are being shipped from British warehouses to Germany, Spain and Italy despite severe shortages in this country, The Telegraph can disclose.
Lorries are being packed with masks, respirators and other PPE kit before heading back to supply hospitals in the EU, it has emerged.
On Monday night, UK firms said they had “no choice” but to keep selling the lifesaving gear abroad because their offers of help had been repeatedly ignored by the Government.

regardless of what the government are doing and there will be a reckoning when this is all over surely as a CEO of a Hospital, manager of a care home and other services that’s require PPE Go over the governments head and go directly to these suppliers and deal with them without having to go through a third party ie the Government. The hospitals trusts are crying out for this stuff as are care homes and it is there, they need to use their initiative pick up the phone and put their orders in.

Just heard that the flow of unknown untested foreigners into the country with hundreds still coming in on passenger flights described as delivering stores! This is in addition to the over 500 flights of private jets coming in from all over the planet without immigration nor customs nor Border Agency supervision.

Is it really any surprise that virtually nobody outside the Palace of Westminster believes a single word any politician or civil servant is saying nowadays? And that puppet Simon Clarke MP simply CANNOT be speaking the truth about whether we should or should not be wearing facemasks, of some sorts, to curb the spread of expired breath, and droplet explosions from coughs and sneezes being carried up to 15 feet! Answer seems simple to me but, of course, politicians always know what’s best for us.

the decision to wear face masks is up to an individual Just bear in mind that every face mask you purchased takes that mask always from front line services do what we have done make your own that are plenty of sites online that show you how
