No other British regiment has won more Victoria Crosses in a single war than the Lancashire Fusiliers. The highest and most prestigious military award was handed out 18 times to Fusiliers across the First World War.

Now a historic effort is under way to unite them all for the first time. The Fusiliers Museum in Bury, Lancashire, has sourced 17 of the 18 for an exhibition this autumn commemorating the centenary of the Armistice.
