UK to build prison wing in Lagos to transfer Nigerian prisoners
Britain will build a new wing at Kirikiri Prison in the Nigerian city of Lagos so that it can transfer Nigerian prisoners there, the government in London has announced.
The new 112-bed wing, which will cost 700,000 pounds and be compliant with United Nations standards, will make it easier for Britain to comply with a prisoner transfer agreement it signed with Nigeria in 2014.
cant find any figures as to how many Nigeria prisoners we hold in the UK as it would have been interesting to see how much per head this is going to cost us the taxpayer and we all know that every prisoner will fight being send back to Nigeria and then we’ll have the extra cost to us by having to fund legal aid great

At the moment there are 485 men and 49 women who are Nigerian in the UK prisons. So a 112 bed wing is no where near what is needed for the Nigerians so more of our money wasted again.

not sure.. benefit system here not encouraging. you have to make 50 contributions before you get unemployment benefit, and previous contributions off the island are not credited. migrants live in a camp, the old RAF Station at Hal Far/Safi. and are expected to work. the bin collections are a Maltese driver and 2 young , generally African lads who are expected to Run. break the law and you are In Prison awaiting trial and that could be years. or deported. so not too many come here. the boat people. are checked for basic humanitarian needs and sent on their way to Italy. this place is ok if you are 'self-sufficient' but if not then you get very little in the way of assistance.

When you say they are expected to run does that mean the driver won’t let them in the cab
