    Catalonia -v- Spain

The BBC News, this morning, showed the letter written by the Prime Minister of Spain, which activates their Article 155. I was amazed to see, in the opening paragraph, the word 'Brexit'. Can anybody even guess the connection between Catalonia seceding from Spain and UK leaving the EU?

The only reason that comes to mind is that should Catalonia become independent from Spain then it would cease to be part of the EU.

Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few days are we going to see the troops go in and the Catalonia police taken over but whatever happens you can guarantee that the rest of the EU will remain silent. Come to think of it the only countries leader that has come out with condemnation of the violence was jimmy kranky in Scotland and we all know the reason behind that. But look on the bright side if Catalonia had to leave the EU that means another country to strike a trade deal with and you can bet that would get up the Spanish governments nose

Over 90% turnout and the majority want independence so having the election has backfired on the Spanish PM so let’s see if he now falls on his sword and does a Cameron

Surprised that the The Basque separatist group ETA havent taken advantage of this situation and "kicked off" ? I suppose that when they hid their weapons and Abandoned
the armed struggle, they forgot to bung some graphite grease, a bit of oil and some WD40 on rifles in the caches and they are all rusted up now?

Well it will be interesting to see what happens now as there is apparently a legal way in which they can go about getting their independence and now that the vote has gone that way it now opens the door for them so watch this space
