Increased to 70 stored messages. After that you will need to periodically delete old messages because if you exceed the number, you will not be able to send or receive new messages until you delete some old messages.
You can, of course, create a 'pending' folder and store your messages in that

Re: Forum Ideas
Hi Bob,
I also enjoy the quizes and vBookie even though I really suck at some questions related to UK news and TV programs. At least I got the one Canadian question correct that was part of the quiz about a week ago.
As for the arcade, I also enjoy visiting it frequently but personally find there are too many games now. I found it better when there were around 10 games which made it more of a challenge to compete against fellow visitors. Around 10 games also helped me to get to bed earlier because I like to spend about an hour playing before sleep. With no will power to stop I spend far too long at the arcade, I must get a life soon. I'm sure others like lots of games so this is just a personal choice.
It's also good to have some lighter threads thrown in now and again such as the ones John Turner comes up with. It takes the edge off the doom and gloom of everyday life.
On a personal note you guys are doing a fantastic job on this Forum. I hope you get compensated (several beers) by members when they see you at the many re-unions.
Cheers
Dilwyn

Dilwyn, many thanks for that input; I'm sure there are numerous members that agree with you, and I acknoledge what you say.
Admittedly, the Arcade has grown considerably since we first started it. However, additional games are installed regularly to ensure it is kept competitive and appealing, and the most popular games are always left installed.
I would be more than happy to remove those games that aren’t being played regularly or that haven’t been rated. If the majority of 'Gamesters' were in agreement, we could remove the games that have been played the least or those that have not been rated. It's their choice!

Re: Forum Ideas
There is stuff I always read, stuff I sometimes read, stuff I rarely read and stuff I never read.
But the 'unread posts' feature makes it very easy to select what I want from the above categories. Without that I think there would be too many forums though, a bit bewildering for many.

Re: Forum Ideas
Hi Forum Team, I think your doing a fantastic job with the Forum But i would like to see the Forum becoming a branch in its own right, then all Comrades would have accsess to RWFCA details from all over the world.
It would be a worlds first, and i am sure some Forum members would take on the job, ie Secretary , chairman, vice chair, and so on.
I do know that there are limited branches and this forum is right on most peoples doorsteps were ever they live, plus most people just dont have the time to turn up to branch meetings, and they miss out .
Val.

Re: Forum Ideas
I too dislike the quizzes, vbetting etc but appreciate that they are popular, so I think they should stay. I would love a evening chat especially if more ladies joined in. I've noticed since this new & improved (for men, in my opinion) forum started, the ladies joining in (me included ) has dropped dramatically. No more chit chat from Sharon or Margrit or me for that matter. Except for the chat evening, I'm not sure what the answer is but please could we have something to bring the girls back? A kind of virtual Wives Club maybe.
Take care all

Re: Forum Ideas
Fair comment Anita,
As a daughter, sister, wife and mother(now that is service to the regiment) of guys who've served in the regiment. your perspective is bound to be different, but very valid. Perhaps we can look into a chatroom restricted to the ladies, or find someway of filling that void. I'm sure Bob will be able to come up with something suitable. Leave it with us

Re: Forum Ideas
Great forum and well run, Most topics should stimulate conversation between people, can you not just look at what is read and not read, Living in merseyside i dont get the chance to meet lads but via the forum i do. Its very easy for users to criticise a system without knowing how much hard work it takes to manage it. There is always somthing of interest on the posts but i would like to see more from lads still serving. Well done moderators and keep up the great unpade work you do for the enjoyment for you and others.

Re: Forum Ideas
Hello Bob,
I think it is a great idea buying a site for the Red Dragon etcetera. I think it may be best for the branches who are willing to help out with the £30--00p you have paid for this site on a one off basis. I am sure my branch will contribute. As stated it can be used as an on going Red Dragon news vehicle, and an obituary section will be a distinct advantage. as funeral details can be put on site immediately, instead of a yearly basis as at present. It will be of inestimable value for our independant members and last but not least our members who live out side the principality U S of A, Canada and Oz where our RWF emigres numbers are in double figures. I have just had an e mail from John Meredith and he is coming over to the agm again with Bridgend branch. Sections may be used for each branch to supply information and updates. As I explained to you in an e mail I will gladly help in any way possible (Sub editor or what have you) I will contact a few secs and hold a straw poll to obtain their reactions to this great idea. I think any one using the forum who may be able to add to the list of sections woulld be a good idea. Another advantage is that the first batt can keep abreast of all our info through the forum, and it will be more informative than a yearly journal. Plus the fact I have a lot to catch up on.
Regards Don

Re: Forum Ideas
Anita's idea of a chat room for 'wives club' is an excellent idea because lads the ladies served with us as well. They have memories and comradeship to share and whilst we were away they had to be mum, dad and everything else to our children so they are as much a part of the Royal Welch Fusiliers as we were.
I'm a little confused as to Val's idea of a Forum Branch!!
everyone who has access to this site can get the information that's on it save the closed membership of lottery syndicates so I find the concept of a forum Branch very difficult to grasp.
The intention is to put every aspect of RWFCA material on the site as would be available to branch members today so that communication about events, people and the Regtiment are accessible for all.
What we must all try and do is to attract former RWF to join either a branch or as an individual member and use this tool to communicate with them on a regular basis.
