    Forum Ideas

Now is your chance to influence the growth of the public areas of the Royal Welch Forum.

What forums are hot, which ones are not. Do we have too many quizes, arcade games or vBookie events? Should we set aside a specific chat day/night so members (we mean more than 2-3) can get in there and have a good old chin wag

Give us your ideas for new topical forums or ways to make this forum better, or have we got it just about right with regard to content?

    Re: Forum Ideas

I'm sure this has been mentioned elsewhere on the site, but I would like to see a "virtual" branch of the RWFCA. Like many other members of this forum I will probably never a meeting at my local branch because there isn't one. This forum is my link to those I served with. Maybe it would improve comms between the Regiment as it is now and its constituant parts, I don't want a constant disscusion about the rights and wrongs of the formation, but I do want to be informed of Colours parades, up coming events, etc. As I'm sure others do.

I am working on this. Information will probably be be promulgated via an on line newsletter/news forum like this example. The content will be RWFCA specific and edited by branch secretaries. Example Newsletter and forum

i think the content is right, the v bookie, arcade, quizes are very well subscribed to by members of the forum, anything else added can only be a bonus to all users

    Re: Forum Ideas

I agree the vbookie is a good thing I do hope it will incorporate the Grand National in April, horse race that is? And the quizzes are fine as they are linked.

A chat link would be a good thing with a dedicated evening but aside for that subject, as some subjects are only of interest to certain groups i.e. Life in France and bikers and others, so it could well be beneficial one a month say last say Thursday "as weekends people party" to have a topical subject, for members to chat as a group!

Subjects for discussion to be submitted to a mediator prior to a month!

Also I would think a name and shame section in the gallery for such areas as "Teenage,s Bedrooms" and any area of concern ie bad practice or dangerous actions with in our enviroment, shops, work place, public area etc???? just a thought.

Ok Bob that me, cheers 69

    Re: Forum Ideas

I don't take part in the quizzes or vBookie and have tried to work out how to block these forums to limit the number of new posts I have to look at. To date this has been unfruitful. Is there a way that members can block forums. It is possible to block individuals so perhaps an extension of that facility would be possible.

User CP>Edit Options> Scroll to bottom of page and look for:

    Forums To Exclude From View
Here you can select any number of forums to exclude from the forums list, from "get new" search and from "get daily" search.

This doesn't stop them appearing in the Latest Thread's marquee at the top of the main page. I can,of course, exclude vBookie and Quiz threads from appearing; but I won't, not until I hear what other members have to say!

YES - I have just added the above Exclude Option in response to your request - it hasn't been there from the start!
