Is this Trump's complaint with regards to NATO, that America plus the other countries are subsidising the remaining 23 members.
Plus France again only deploys it's military in support of French interests just like it's civil policies.

It's is like paying into an insurance policy, you want the full cover of the policy but will not pay the full premiums.

I think America pays in around 70% of the NATO budget you can see why he's P'ed off

We should be telling them, No Trade deal then bye bye NATO. The Russians would have to travel across all of Europe before they got to us. Might give the French/Germans etc some incentive to be kinder in the BREXIT negotiations

Yes and tell them that this time there will be no Royal Navy or British Merchant Marine to pull them out of Europe, plus we will brick up the Channel Tunnel.

Interesting to read from a well known think tank due to cutbacks etc the British army would only last an afternoon against a threat such as Russian think I'll slit my wrists now

See that Germany has refused to pay the required 2% to fund NATO is that because they know a European army is on the books and NATO is on the way out

Will be interesting to see America's (Trump's ) reactions to this in the light of his comments with regard to NATO members paying the towards the up keep of NATO.

Well I did see that the secretary of defence was in the uk this week also the EU with a view to telling NATO what to say to Trump when he comes over in a few weeks. Like you say it will be interesting
