Re: Junior leaders/soldiers battalions.
Quite a few of the Drums Platoon started off as Junior Soldiers, some went to Hong Kong, NI. then Tidworth. Colin Rogers, Dave Howell, Mike Jones 66, Dave Simmister, Tom Hillard and myself Mal Ball. Unfortunately Jaffa Thomas and Adrian Parker have passed on. I joined in 1968, boy soldier Drums Plt Junior Soldiers Company Cwrt-y-Gollen. Only believe only Tom Hillard and myself did 22 years. Happy days.

Re: Junior leaders/soldiers battalions.
Started in Crickhowell 1st May 79 until 80, with a few others from the Battalion. One who comes to mind is P.A. Williams 91 (Rocky) and if I remember rightly the only two to complete 22 years.

Re: Junior leaders/soldiers battalions.
Started off in Cwrt Y Gollen as a Junior Drummer, Sept 65 to May 68. Joined battalion in Honiton and for some reason I was posted directly to Recce Plt Command Company. Finished service in 1990 having completed 22 years service.

Re: Junior leaders/soldiers battalions.
Oswestry was something else!
I called in there ... or at least where it was ... on my way back from last year's comrades weekend and paid my respects to the starter of this thread.
There is a garden in his memory at the location of the armoury. It was a very strange experience trying to imagine where everything was and what went on there, where there is nothing much at all now, but I'll be repeating it again this year.
I didn't serve at the same time as Neil but I met him at a sigs reunion in Wrexham shortly before he passed away.

Working for yourself is great, not only can you work half days, you can choose which 12 hours!
