Is there anyone amonst you that could kindly e-mail the full words for the Galloping 23rd to me. i know 90% but am a little ropey towards the end . The Battalion have a choir singing competition and it would be good if we could know teach and pass on to the younger generation of Fusilier the Galloping 23rd before Dai's Day arrives. (Could never understand this line becvause no RWF sergeant majors I've known would have run away, just the opposite, they would have been first over the top!)

I can remember that B coy won the choir competition in warminster think it was 83 ish major Bob Lloyd was our oc then great competition you ll discover some hidden talents it'll be like Xfactor. has it been held since this time..........?

I remember that chour comp in Warminster I was in Delta's then we came 2nd with trailer for sail or rent rooms to let 40 cents, cant remember the other one we sang i think it was new york new york by franky blue eyes

Hello,
Re the Cyprus ditty. Line seven used to end with if he is the leader of the Deutchland freedom well sod????? him he 's no cousin of mine. But this relates to the Great war and France is sung instead of Cyprus.
Regards to the Choir and all interested parties. Exscuse my German if it is miss spelt.

That line "if he's the leader off the " has changed depending where the regiment is serving or where a conflict (National Service) is at the time, it was Ireland so the IRA was sung in the 70s - 90s and depending on how much of the wobbly ale had been sunk it was "sod him" or F..... him he is no cousin of mine, but Bob is too much of a Gent, ?

I guess it should be Sadam nowdays, or that toe rag in Afgan, who know???
