Have your say about the new car tax

You may have heard about the government's proposal to introduce road pricing which will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.

Please forward to everyone you know that owns a car/M/Cycle, or has owned a car, or is thinking of owning one in the future.

    After paying:

Road Fund Licence (Tax...for having a car),
Fuel Duty (Tax....for using fuel in your car),
Parking fines (Tax because councils don't provide enough parking) and Fixed Penalty notices (Tax for getting caught, momentarily exceeding the speed limit),

the Government are now taking the mick if they think we are going to take "Mileage Tax" lying down! Join us in trying to stop them squeezing more out of your wallets and making dog showing just for the rich!

So if you want to do something about it sign up and have your voice heard - please sign the petition at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non-working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month.

On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a fine and 3 points with your monthly bill.

If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new web site http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

The Nanny State watching our every move!
We are taxed more now than we ever have been!
Living in a rural area this type of taxation would prove so prohibitive we would have to consider moving back to the large conabations something we would not wish to do.
    Have signed the petition.
Blair and his crew will do what they want they don't listen to the electorate he has to find someway to pay for his and George Bush's aspirations for western hegemony!!!

Question how will goverment fleet vehicle,s police cars and a sort be covered will they also be tracked or will they invoke a security opt out, as they are not above the law, ie whom tracks the trackers?

Are we heading towards an elite Tax which will take away the use of vehicles to many low erners and have them depending on public transport "a joke" and losing what independence they do have?

    Barry

    PS

I am living in France where the road tax is within the fuel prices, and the main roads are covered by tolls although there are still national routes which are free of charge, just not as direct.

if police vehicles and so on, do have trackers, they will only have to be paid for by the public. i cant see it coming out of their wages can you?

Lets us all boycott it and either use our bikes or walk, otherwise we will be discussing the problems in the goverment and "Big Brother Programme"
