If I asked my Dad for money he would say it would be like 'Giving a domkey strawberries' Never heard anyone else say that.

My favourite saying of my wife's is "Your enough to give my **** (backside) an 'edache"

if you don't stop crying i'll give you something to cry about. What "Sweets" no a good old smack. I never did understand the logic behind that one because the smack always made you cry harder and louder.:mad_xmas:

My dad was a real good grafter,down the pit all day,in the pub all night,or maybe the other way round.
He came in one night,just before christmas,and I said to him,
"Dad,you needn't moan now about spending all your hard earned money on me a bike."I JUST FOUND ONE ALL WRAPPED UP BEHIND THE SHED"
My sister was at that age,she said to him,"I want something for Christmas with loads of diamonds,SANTA BROUGHT HER A PACK OF CARDS....

I was attached to the UDR for two years - they had some GREAT sayings!

E.g. - propping the bar up in the mess - alone - in walks a guy ... "Ah - John - It's yourself is it?"

i would moan
then he'd say ill time you
i dont know why but i'd be up like a shot ,and say dont start till i get my shoe's on
i'd get back and dad was still counting 31,32,32half, well done son you broke your record
my lad still falls for it now and he's 21
