Diamond Jubilee
So did you enjoy or even take part in the Jubilee celebrations. We had a street party which was well attended and great fun despite the awful weather. If nothing else I spoke to neighbours I hardly knew. I also viewed some of the TV footage of the boat flotilla on the Thames; the best part for me was the orchestra and soaking wet choir belting out Rule Britannia, Land of hope and Glory etc. I think it is brilliant that the British can have fun and make the best of things in awful weather. “God save the Queen”

Re: Diamond Jubilee
When I left the Army I must say I went through a period of discontentment, regarding the way in which I left the Army and how your forgot about. however in the past 7 years or more I have grown to be more appreciated of the time I had in my 10 years I served. I for one have always been a royalist and will always be a royalist whether Wales is part of a United Kingdom or not. I am proud to have served in the 1st Bn Royal Welch Fusiliers and to have served her Majesty at this time. (fact)

Re: Diamond Jubilee
HM the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh must be knackered after all the events over the jubilee period. So did Prince Phillip pull a sickie, after all he is 91 and I bet he was not looking forward to sitting through some of the rubbish on show at the concert last night. IMHO Tom Jones was one of the few worth listening to. So I reckon Phillip thought “sod this I am off to a nice hospital bed a few beers and a good night’s kip” LOL

Re: Diamond Jubilee
I felt extremley sorry for Her Majesty being without The Duke for the evening and of course the main parade the following day. It must have been very hard for our Colonel In Chief to be without her husband on this occasion in particulary after the scare at Christmas. She is after all human and a wife as well as the Queen of this once respectful nation.
Dame Shirley was the class act of the evening for me. How can she still belt out that number at her age, she is fantastic.

Colin,
I know that you mean this to be a simple joke, but I believe that there are members of the Forum that may be offended of what you have said.
