RWF Comrades Associations
Hi,
I have recently found the forum and wish to congratulate whoever thought of it and well done to those who spend time updating it every day.
I currently live right in the middle of Wales and I am wondering if anyone out there can direct me to my nearest old comrades association. I live in Llandrindod Wells Powys.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Clive Rees. (08) (Cliveyyyyy!)

Re: RWF Comrades Associations
Thanks to you Clive aswell, you have posted some excellent photos recently.
In answer to your question, you can either join a branch, I think your nearest would be either Newtown or Brecon. Contact and meeting details can be found in the main part of our site at:
http://www.rwf-forum.co.uk/html/branches.html
Or you can join online as an individual member, which is free, and can again be completed in the main part of the site.

Hi Clive, again welcome to the forum.
If you read my profile you will see.I was a bit ahead of you in the regiment,my reason for contacting you is: Have you met/heard of John & Peter GRIMES.Old RWF Band members.Noticed Both have carried the old comrades standard at Rememberance Day @ Albert Hall over last few years, but neither have come forward on this forum. One edition a few years ago mentioned Peter/John ? came from Powys. Any Info.Stu.B?

Re: RWF Comrades Associations
Hi Al,
Thanks for the link. I'm stuck in the middle and spoilt for choice really.
I think Newtown is my nearest one so I may take a trip up there in the New Year.
There are several RWF in Llandrindod Wells, Graham Middleton and Steve Reynolds, I may ask them if they fancy a drive.
Steve Reynolds was in Support Company, Anti-tanks and I think Graham was also in the Anti-Tank Platoon.
Simon,
John & Peter do not ring a bell with me, perhaps Steve or Graham may know them. They may go to the local British Legion.
They may be local boys, from Llandod, I'm originally fro Aberdare and have only been living here for 14 years, I suppose you could call me local!

Re: RWF Comrades Associations
The LOF(ex Sgts Mess Members) hold their annual reunion every year at the Metropole in April. You would find a few of the boys at the bar there on the Fri evening, the night before the main dinner, the likes of John Lewis 04, Bob Bacon and others.

My wife and I write to John Grimes and his wife once a year, at Christmas, so will try and encourage him to join the Forum.

Hi Dai,
I have retired from the boys in blue back in March. I now work in Newtown High School, Powys.
It's nice to hear from you and from some of the other boys from the 70's.
Keep in touch!
