    Battalion/Army songs

    I was singing in the shower the other day, well trying to anyway. I think my wife says its just a noise!!! I was singing one of the songs that we used to sing whilst as a boy soldier and whilst in the Battalion. However i could only remember a few verses.

    The song Goes;
    ..............and the hairs on her dicky dido hang down to her knees. One black one one white one and one with a bit of ***** on, and the hairs etc etc.

    This got me thinking about some of the other songs we used to sing eg, an engineer told me before he died, the warriors song, Quartermasters store etc etc.

    I'm sure there are many more with various versions, but were they, have they ever been published anywhere?

    I wonder if anyone out there in Royal Welch land knows any more songs, or if they were ever published.

    And I really am a good singer, honest!!!!

EG The Moon Shon On The village Green, Good Ship Venus,The Alphabet, Sloop John B, Cathusalem The Harlot Of Jerusalem, and not forgetting Fred Dargie's favorite Eskimo Nell and he knew all 64 verses. Yoko, with Barnacle Bill The Sailor. Dad's Sanctus they bring back fond memories.

    How about:-

    "Dina, Dina show us a leg"

    "It was on the bridge at midnight throwing snowballs at the moon."

    "Mary from the mountain glen"

    Anyone remember "Ting a Ling" sung by the D.R.O.? (Forgot his name)

    Re: Battalion/Army songs

    Maybe I can make some money out of this for some worthy cause and publish it in a book?

    It's nice to have all the titles, but can you remember the verses that went with it???
