Yes, it's time for that "obligatory" Happy New Year post, full of cheesy good wishes and platitudes. I'm a bit late with my greetings this time, but let's just say that 2009 is proving to be challenging ... and it's still only January 1!

Seriously, though, the Forum had a very eventful 2008 - many successes and achievements, which is all down to you, the members. We thank you for your encouragement and feedback throughout 2008. On behalf of all the forum staff, I want to thank you all for being simply the best community there is and the longer we are able to run this forum, the more fun it becomes.

Let this coming year be better than all the others. Vow to do some of the things you've always wanted to do but couldn't find the time. Call up a forgotten friend. Drop an old grudge, and replace it with some pleasant memories. Vow not to make a promise you don't think you can keep. Walk tall, and smile more. You'll look ten years younger!

I wish all our members, friends and family the very best of health, and a prosperous New Year.

Happy New Year to all Royal Welchmen,forum members and to your families. lets just hope that 2009 brings health, wealth, and most of all happiness.

So with that in mind lets get the reunions going and our friendships lasting, have a wonderful 2009 ladies and gents.

Seriously, a happy New Year to all Royal Welchmen (23rd Regt of Foot), Royal Welshmen (23rd, 24th and 41st Regts of Foot), forum members and families, lets hope the forthcoming year is better than the last year, prosperity to all and good luck and a safe tour for 1 RW in the latter part of the year.
