It's a small world
So there we were two weeks ago, me and the other arf....strolling along Main St in Gibraltar, minding our own business, when we hear "Oi is that you Al, whats occuring" in a deep South Walian accent....or words similar.
Turned round and it was John and Julie Lewis 04....Whats the chances of that. We would have seen Bob and Barbara Bacon, but Bob was at the other end of the town, buying a souvenir doll(John reckons Bob buys one at every port....he's got 35 now!!!) Anyway here's the proof. Do any other members have similar tales to tell? (Click photo to enlarge)

Re: It's a small world
Yep, sadly, I've got one like that.
Many years ago (maybe 1998/1999) me and the Mrs were returning down the west coast of Scotland, towing a caravan (with a car!), having toured up to the north. As we exited from the south end of a village (don't know the name) on the route we spotted a nice tea room with huge cream puff cakes in the window. We turned around a couple of miles later and drove back through the village to the large parking area around the middle (nowadays we wouldn't do that, cost too much in fuel!), where the public loo's etc were. We parked up and started to walk down towards the tea rooms and as we were passing the entrance to the male toilets I heard a voice say "What the bloody hell are you doing here?". It turned out to be the paymaster from 28 Signal Regiment, in Krefeld, where I served as 2IC/OC HQ Squadron 1987 - 1990. He and his Mrs just happened to be passing thru on a historical/battlefield tour type of trip and somebody in the bus just needed to go to the loo at that time.
Consider: one minute, or even 10 or 15 seconds earlier or later we would not have been passing the entrance to the loo as he came out and the meeting might never have happened. It must have been destined to happen.

How right you are. The Mrs and myself in Benidorm for a fortnight, ending today 8th Oct 08. Anyway the other night, were waiting for the lift to our Floor, when I looked over to the other lift, and thought, I know that bloke, and I pointed at him, and he was looking puzzled at me, and I shouted out "Alan Mayberry", "That's right" he said. We were only in A Coy 1 RRW together in the early 70s then in the Depot Crickhowell together in 1978/79, which is the last time I saw him. Marverlous. Braz
