    Paypal - Fraud

Received a pretty convincing spam this morning from hackers attempting to gain access to my paypal account. If you have a paypal account keep a look out for similar messages to the one I received below. If you do receive one forward it to Paypal at spoof@paypal.com Then delete the email from your account.

    Dear PayPal account holder,
PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system. We have
recently determined that different computers have tried logging into your PayPal account, and multiple password
failures were present before the logons. Until we can collect secure information, your access to sensitive account
features will be limited. We would like to restore your access as soon as possible, and we apologize for the
    inconvenience.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is my account access limited?

Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):

March 19, 2008: We have reasons to believe that your account has been accessed by a third party. We have
limited access to sensitive PayPal account features in case your account has been accessed by an unauthorized
third party. We understand that having limited access can be an inconvenience, but protecting your account is
    our primary concern.

(Your case ID for this reason is PP-467-13498-031.)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can I restore my account access?

Please visit the Resolution Center and complete the "Steps to Remove Limitations."
To visit the Resolution Center, please follow the link below:

    "LINK DELETED"

Completing all of the checklist items will automatically restore your account access.

    Re: Paypal - Fraud

Al thats wierd I have had something similar happen in which my account has been frozen due to a third party trying to use it on the 18th Jan, and they have requested that I send a utility Bill by Fax in order for them to restore my account .

I have just received this info so I have not yet sent the Fax I was going to do this on Tuesday from work how do I check that this is authentic as it sounds very similar to your situation???

    Fax No 0821230217

    Fax ID OP112779PL514830V

I am thinking the best option is to reregister as a new customer with my wifes E Mail address at least that should be Fraud Free

    Also Barry,

Go to your account and check History. See what happened on that particular day.

Another thing. Paypal will always address you by your name and not as "Dear Paypal Member or similar.

    Sounds Suss.
