Ex RRW "Sgt Maj" Becomes Buddhist Monk
Hi again,
Extract from this week's Birmingham Mail/Solihull News:
"Former Sgt Maj Mark Carter (RRW) leaves the Army behind after nearly 25 years service to become a Buddhist Monk". Indeed, the article goes on to, identify that Mark will "[B]Earn His Stripes on the birthday of Queen Sirikit of Thailand, Sunday 12 August 2007".]
Mark resides in Walsall but a monk at the Staffordshire Temple - I pretty much doubt he's on our forum!!
Should mates of his wish to pass messages, I can do,so through the Mail Reporter. Alternatively, more appropriately, through Ritchie our RWF Veterans Site Manager.

Have tried to place this thread on the RW Vets Site with no success. Have PM'd Ritchie 42 accordingly.

Hi
Many of my Regiment were artists but I dont think we ever had a monk except for one CSM who was from the " Climbing the curtains in a Mess Dinner order"

This sounds like he probably "DID" talk Religion, Politics at the Mess bar. Everyone to their own I say.
