    Veterans Orthopaedic Service

Just read the comments on the Veterans I.D. Cards, I was going to put my comments on their but I thought that perhaps this would be a better platform to get the information across to the forum members.
The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Gobowen, ( Known locally as Gobowen Hospital ) provides a service for Veterans. The service is led by Lt. Colonel Carl Meyer and treat Arthritic Lower Limb problems, especially those requiring Hip and Knee replacements. For more information you can contact Lt. Colonel Meyers Medical Secretary, Rebecca Jones on 01691 404344.
You do not need to be a local veteran, it provides a service for veterans throughout the U.K., just inform your GP., that you wish to be referred to that hospital.
It is a teaching hospital for skeleton problems, the veterans wing is within the general hospital and I for one can fully recommend it's service my wife and grand daughter have been treated there and also I know of a couple of friends who have had knee and hip replacements, it's facilities, treatment and recovery processes are world class.

My wife had 2 new knees there in 2004 and 2005. Could hardly walk before was great after having them. The specialist in Glan Clwyd said she was too young for having it done. A Doctor we were friendly withf told her to go for a 2nd opinion which she did and she was sent to Gobown. Never looked back after. I reckon if you need it get in there, excellent Hospital and the food is excellent too.

Yes the food is excellent, and the hospital is kept spotless throughout. The cleaning staff like the catering people our employed in house by the hospital, not contractors.
