    Royal Navy ship names

    There is a good article of ships names on Forces net at the moment it’s a good read and brings a laugh just thought I bring you one

    HMS Spanker

    its the follow up that brings a chuckle

    There have been four Spankers in the Royal Navy

    Here is one which you may have felt uncomfortable serving on. HMS Crash. 2 of that name although the second was originally HMS Scourge later renamed Crash

    HMS Fairy

    HMS Blossom, HMS Bustard and one which is very current HMS Barnard Castle

    Churchill had more luck at naming submarines, aptly calling a T-class sub HMS Tiptoe for its ability to sneak up on the enemy undetected. It also made for a beautiful badge of a tiptoeing ballerina in a pink tutu.

    This one is being assigned to one of our new subs being commissioned in 2024 no doubt there will be moans about this

    Not to good on tip toeing though. Two collisions with other ships and ran agound in the Firth of Clyde.
