    The Passing of Bill Doutch

I received a a text from Capt Des Williams DCM on Friday evening to say that Bill Doutch had passed away, then Brian Jones from the Holyhead Branch rang me to confirm this very, very sad news.

Bill was in hospital after taken ill some weeks ago.

Bill was my Platoon Sergeant back in the early Tidworth days a True RWF man and professional soldier through and through. He will be sadly missed by many, as he always had a laugh and joke with every body at the Reunions in Wrexham.

    From
Myself, personally and all branch members of the Shotton and Deeside Branch RWFCA/RWRA our deepest sympathy goes out to Bill's wife and family at this very, very sad time. Bill, May You RIP.

Deepest condolences to family, friends and fellow comrades from London Branch RWFCA. Bill, like his brother Ted, was a good soldier and person. RIP both!!

Re: The Passing of Bill Doutch

I first met Bill in St George’s Barracks in Minden. I was in the Signals’ Platoon and Bill was in the Recce Platoon. He had a humble self-confidence that instinctively drew people to him. His own brand of selflessness and professionalism marked him out as a soldier, but it was the warmth of his personality that set him out as a popular and effective leader.

Full of charisma and highly respected by everyone, Bill was an exceptionally friendly individual with a great sense of humour.

Our deepest condolences go to Bill’s family and friends at what is a terrible, tragic time.
