Re: The Hackle
When the Bn was presented with new colours at Caernarvon Castle in 1975 ( I think that was the event) we were bussed up from Depot Crickhowel, I noticed CSMs wearing them then.

Re: The Hackle
In Hong Kong we wore what we called the corn flake packet cap badge, ie a very poor Prince of Wales Feathers which was the Welsh Bde Cap Badge.
I may be wrong but when the Regiment reverted back to our own RWF cap badge WOs were issued with the officer's cloth badge and the hackle was not worn by WOs.
Regards,
Joe.

Re: The Hackle
I have in my possession a copy of Regimental Standing Orders 1970 Edition.
It has hand written on the inside of the front cover... WO? Griffiths 1/.R.W.Fus.
I saved it from a skip in Berlin I will gladly return it to Mr Griffiths if he wishes !!
It states " The hackle is worn in the beret only when the flash is worn. It is not at present worn by officers in any type of head-dress." (no mention of WOs)
Having seen & worn different size hackles it states " The dimensions of the hackle are... 3" high from the top of the badge by 3" across at it's widest part."
It also states that the hackle is correctly called "Plumes, feather, white"
Interesting to see what todays orders say?
