I have recently become involved with an up and coming film production company called JUST DRUID that raises money through the films it makes for charities. Working in partnership with the University of South Wales they have made a film titled “I DIED IN HELL” about a young soldier from the Royal Welch Fusiliers called 2nd Lt Herbert Glyn Morgan who served in the17th Battalion RWF and was killed at Passchendaele.

The film focuses on letters he sent home and letters from his colleagues sent to his family after he was killed. Involved in the film and reading out the letters are Derek Adams, Adrian “Shady” Kent, Lance Edmunds, Pat Provis and Gordon Berry (RRW). All of these have been filmed and will be shown in the film. The narrator for the film is Lt Gen Jonathon Riley.

All money raised by this film is going to a Veteran’s Charity.

We are holding a film premiere on FRIDAY, 10th NOVEMBER to coincide with the end of the battle at the University of South Wales Cardiff Campus (The Atrium). There will be a drinks reception before the film and a small function with curry supper, drums display and singer at 53 (Wales & Western) Signal Squadron Tŷ Llewellyn Army Reserve Centre, Morgan Street, Cardiff, CF10 4FG (the barracks opposite Cardiff Prison).

The cost of a ticket for this event is £10 with all proceeds going to the Veteran’s Charity

The night includes:-

Friday, 10th NOVEMBER

7pm-7:30pm: Drinks Reception at the barracks (free glass of wine on arrival)
7:30pm: Move across the road to the University
8pm-8:45pm: Film “I died in Hell” to be shown
8:45pm: Move back to barracks
9pm: Curry buffet
9:30pm: Drums Display followed by a singer and Last Post
10pm-midnight: Drinks etc.

The above timings are to be confirmed. There is FREE parking at the barracks.
