    masterchef bbc2

just watched master chef and found it detremental to the ideal of the royal welch soldier been fed by tv cooks when our own chefs know what is required to keep our boys fighting fit no amount of this type will do anything to enligthen the publics view of what makes the british army what it is today

That wasn't the aim of the show - it was about food - just putting the competitors in a different working environment and seeing what other qualities they had other than practical skills - such as leadership, man-management and organisational skills.

No-one interested in the programme gives a jot about who is being fed, just the contestants, what they produce and how, but they would get the message that the army can provide quality both in the field and in an all singing and dancing kitchen neither is easy and the latter can match Ramsay's!

i dont think it was a waste of money mucka, you dont pay the bill and what about keeping the army in the public eye. No matter who you are, i was part of that set up here and belive me we gained a lot in many respects.

I am not normally one for responding, but I think some people have missed the point of this programme! "it's Master Chef" the only reason most of the people on this forum would have watched it is because the "boys" were on it. Unless you’re into cooking that is? The aim was to put 3 civie chefs under a bit of pressure, and we managed to get some good PR from it. If it gets the Hackle on TV then it can’t be a bad thing in my opinion. good on you Beefy
