    Falklands medal

Hi did anyone read the report in the news paper about the Falklands medal. It stated that the medal is to be awarded to everyone that served there up till the opening of the the new airport , the medal would not have the rose on the ribbon . The Priminister was pictured presenting the medal to veterans .ive had a look on the veterans gov site but cant get any info on this .So if anyone could shed a bit of light on this it would be great .

"The medal alone was awarded for 30 days continuous or accumulated service between 7° and 60° South latitude between 2 April and 14 June 1982 (completing no later than 12 July 1982).[2] As a result of the 2012 Independent Medal Review conducted by Sir John Holmes, from 1 October 2014 the qualifying period for the medal without rosette was extended to 21 October 1982, the date RAF Stanley airfield was finished."
