Any info please on the following

Hi All
My wife's uncle would like to know any information on his step brother CSM David William Thomas Roberts from Denbigh 4th Bn RWF WW2 he left the Army in 1938 as a sergeant and re enlisted in 1939 he thinks this info is all he can remember please any more info will be great.

Hi,

There's quite a lot of info to be had but it takes time. The first thing you should do is apply for a copy of his service records. They cost £30 and will list all the units he served with during WW2. There's a good chance he may not have been with the 4RWF when he re-enlisted unless you have absolute proof, either way I would still apply for a copy of his records. Once you have this info you can then start looking at the units war diaries that he served with, these give a day to day account amongst ofther info of what the unit was doing and where they were doing it.

Do you have a service number Benny? If not, a DOB and I will check try and get you his number, so you can apply for his service record.

The wife will not be seeing her uncle until after New Year I will tell to get a DOB then in the meantime I hope you and your family have a great Christmas and New Year.
