Friday 31st Oct 2014 was the centenary of the 1st battle of Ypres. On that day the 24th and 41st fought side by side at Gheluvelt. 13 members of The Bridgend Branch of the Royal Welsh (RRW) spent 5 days in Ypres visiting various sites. We laid wreaths at Tyne Cot cemetery and also at Gheluvelt at 1200 hrs 100 years to the day. Wreaths were also laid at the Menin gate Last Post ceremony at 20.00 hrs. The whole trip was both interesting, and humbling.
