stolen Medal.
Hi.
i just picked up a item on the News on windows 8 re a medal stolen from display in Leicester Cathedral. it had been displayed there since 1983. although it was stolen sometime between july and sept this year i wondered if those of you who watch for medals on E Bay could be aware of it.
it is a.
M.M. awarded Posthumously to a Lt Alfred Ernest Chambers of the 26Btn Royal Fusiliers in 1918.

I believe the medal stolen was actually the Military Cross. Now, the really sad thing about this is that the MC was issued un-named ... so unless it was privately engraved on the reverse - tracking this medal down will be virtually impossible.
A very sad sign of the times we live in.
