    Help find my Uncle

Bit of a long shot, my uncle served in the RWF (10th Bn) I believe, his name was Elvert Parry and lived in Rhes Y Cae Halkyn Mountain North Wales, sadly he died in late 1999/2000. I remember him telling me he was in the RWF during the 1939/45 WW2. Any help would be appreciated.

His details : 4196732 Elvert Thomas Parry served with 10/RWF from 20th October 1939 to 29th May 1940.

You should be able to request his service papers form the MOD with the above details and a copy of his death certificate.

That is going to be hard if not an officer. I have spent most of my researching life trying to find pictures of people!

The best advice I can give is start asking about the family. Someone somewhere might have one. Failing that you really need to know where he was and when, which the service papers should help with. Local newspapers sometimes have pictures, but usually only for fatalities or men decorated.

Best of luck and let us know if you strike lucky!

Really appreciate your advice and thank you again for your help on this, as a matter of interest how did you find out his regimental details?
