Info on my Taid ( Grandad)

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find some information on my Taid, John Williams. He was with the 24th unit in WW1 and his number was 87233. All I know was he was in some sort of blast in Lille and injured his right arm but that was all he would ever say. If anyone has any info or can tell me where to look I'd be grateful

A difficult one Helen, no service papers appear to have survived. His number is a late one. Probably around April 1918. There are no clues on his Medal Index card, and the roll records he only served with 24/RWF as you already know.

Do you have any more clues at all?
