    Capt. Acting Major J.R.O.Williams

Another SD tunic to the Royal Welch Fusiliers, though I have struggled to find any mention of him in the regimental records so perhaps someone here can help. Jon Riley kindly made enquiries for me but could not find him.

For one I might have his initials wrong, but I think they are correct, but if not that might explain why I can't find him. It has a Chester tailors label and is dated July 1943.

Apart from the label it also has written on the liner the below, though it is really hard to capture in a photograph.

    A(cting) Major Williams
    HQ 30 Mil(ilitary?) S(ecurity?)
    HQ 30 CORPS

As always any help is greatly appreciated.

J?P Williams perhaps? The "O" looks like it has a downstroke beneath it. Not sure about the "R" either.

I've found quite a few J Williams with Commissions in the late 1930's into WW2. Including one JO Williams. But no Numbers. I would assume you've already searched through the Gazette JB?

I have but I will have another go perhaps altering some of the search parameters. I'll update if I find anything.

I mean't to add that the tunic has WWII War and Defence medals so he probably never served abroad.

    Thanks for your interest ap1.
