    Red Crown & Dragon

I have recently obtained a copy of Patrick Delaforces's book on the 53rd Welsh Division in North-West Europe 1944 - 1945. For anyone who is a student of this period of the Regiment's History this book is a must. It contains many quotes from members of the Regiment who served with the 4th 6th and 7th Battalions RWF. There are many useful maps and interesting pictures.

I suspect the book has been mentioned before on this means but nevertheless is still worth pointing out.

A good read and I also have a signed hard back edition with a dedication to someone else, I bought it 2nd hand. I wonder if the person to whom it was dedicated was ex 53rd Div.

Jim Simmons, though it might be Simmonds, Best Wished Patrick Delaforce, Brighton November 1996. It would be interesting if he was 53rd Div.

Our fellow member Swiper would probably know. He is the 53rd Div expert, writing a book about it.

    Thanks John.

I have encountered Swiper on another forum and exchanged emails with him in the past, though not on this subject.
