    Howes

    Hello ,
I have just had a phone call from a member of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. It concerns a former member of the R W F C A. His name is Stanley Howes. It appears Stanley is seriously ill. Stanley was in the Corps of Drums in Malaya. My informant knew Stanley had attended some A G M's in Wrexham. After leaving the Army Stanley lived out side the Principality. He is domiciled near Manchester. The worry my contact has is that Stanley is out of touch with the R W F members. I am adding an e mail address if any one wants to contact to get an up to date assessment of Stanley, if so contact the e mail address shown: pfletcher@waitrose.com

    Re: Howes

    Hello Brian,
I knew I had heard the name some where. Your thread is some thing of a mnemonic to me. I believe you are correct. My first source of info mentioned his service in Malaya. But on reflection the first returned to the U K in 1954. And at this time the Queen presented new colours the the 1st 2nd and 4th Battalions R W F at Wroughton Airfield. As soon as the colour presentation was over the 2nd left for Korea but ended up in Malaya. Food for thought Brian.

    Re: Howes

    Hello,
I have heard from Patricia Fletcher re Howe. Patricia is taking Howe the Manchester Regiment's Museum on Friday. Stan is getting weaker every day.
As I get more info I will place it on the forum.Patricia is interested in seeing the photo's of Stan. I have e mailed Al with a PM to see if he can help expedite matters. I am not sure if I forward the e mail address of Collins she can do it that way. Patricia is not a member of the forum.
    Regards R B D
