Bullying in armed forces on rise.

    http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2...e-armed-forces

Shocking official figures reveal a surge in the incidence of bullying in the armed forces, with one in 10 military personnel claiming to have been the victim of "discrimination, harassment or bullying in a service environment" during the past year.

Only 1 in 10, standards are slipping !

    Hi.

Shocking figures indeed, Only 1 in 10. But i wonder if this is due to the Modern definition of Bullying. is a wake up call at 0500 for whatever now a form of abusive behavior. is it considered bullying if one of those nice kind Corp's or the caring Sgt's raise their voices above the level of a loud whisper.A lot of the young people of today are TOO soft. I suppose BULLED Boots and CREASES in trousers and polished Buttons Not to mention Regulation Hair cut's are now classed as Cruel and Inhuman punishments.
However on a more serious note, is this to do with the fact that it is now much easier to report these things, and the reports are now taken up by the vast cohorts of lawyers who latch on to these cases like Leeches.

In days past if this went on we genrally sorted it amongst ourselves. I wonder how a lot of youngsters could have stood up to how a lot of us were treated in Basic Training etc. Used to get jumped on from a bloody great height if you fu##ed up on Drill or something. One of the worst things though was when they would put their face right up to yours whilst giving you a rollocking. All their bloody spit going over your face. Ugh. I would do it all again if I could though. Braz
