Re: ss officer
Visited the place a couple of years ago. Very quiet almost eerie feel to the town and you cannot help but feel the sadness of place. It has got a small museum which shows off belongings of those who were murdered in the town. It brings home how savage the Germans were in some places during war. There is a picture with the caption "SS soldiers dishonoured their mothers that day by killing women and children" that above all else stayed with me after that visit. I would recommend a visit but it does leave you feeling pretty sad, well it did me.
If I can help somebody as I pass along, my living will not be in vain.

Re: ss officer
Very sad that it had to happen in the first place, also very sad that it took so long to bring the alleged perpetrator to book.
Our great great great grandchildren will be reading about people who used to be UK politicians being brought up before the beak for their treacherous misdeeds while they were in the HofC during the 90s and early 20s!
Nobody gets away with a lot in the long term, these days.
