Syria and the Arab Spring.

Hi All.
I am probably Not going to be P.C. in this so be warned.
The latest news seem to indicate that Syria is prepared to agree to the Russian proposal to hand over it's Chemical Weapons to an international Watchdog. So President Obama is putting his attack plans on the shelf for now. I think he shows a lot of wisdom in this. apart from the fact that he probably would not get backing as our PM din't.
Or is it possible that the Syrian Military DID NOT launch the attack.
As i live on Malta, the problems of Tunisia,Libya and now Egypt have been causing problems for some Maltese who work in these countries. as some of our friends do. Some of the accounts from Libya are quite scary. shift patterns have had to be changed for security reasons, a friend who works ''Off Shore'' in Egypt has had major problems getting back for leave.
As a result i have been keeping up on what is going on. and i am far from convinced that the ''Arab Spring'' of the media is what it seems.
What has puzzled me from the outset was why Tunisia. a country which as far as i know was quite stable and peaceful.
But this is where i started getting interested. The whole of the North African coastal area is predominately Arab and Muslim. so where dose the spring go Eastwards, Not Westwards to Morocco and Algeria. which are both wealthy countries. Eastwards to Libya. OK so the Col was not exactly the best liked person in the world, but he was a Strong Leader keeping the Tribal Leaders in Check.
We armed the Rebels so that now they are fighting amongst themselves again, and this is still happening although it is not in the western press
Now we get to Egypt.A Very Pro Western country. Not a noted Muslim Country an important Country because of the Suez Canal.
But Egypt is also a Border Country with ISRAEL.
It is my belief that the whole purpose of the '' Arab spring'' is to provoke Israel into some action.
Now Syria. They have the largest and most modern military forces within the area also a strong leader and a border with Israel.
Can you imagine what would happen if the Rabble got hold of this weaponry. including Chem weapons. i do not think Israel would have any choice but to take action and as we know they have Neuks.
This raises some interesting points.
a) has the Egyptian Military taken control again because of something the Muslim Brotherhood was involved in.
b) Is pressure being brought to bare on UK and USA by the Jews.
c) Is there evidence emerging that Syrian Military were not responsible for the Chem attack.
d) What exactly DO the Russians know.
I think that this is a much more threatening situation than most people realise and must be handled with EXTREME CAUTION or who knows what will break loose. I think the media should STOP showing video from Unknown Sources as a lot of this unrest has been generated by them. there comes a point when the sight of people ''wailing and gnashing teeth '' becomes ''old hat'' and turns people off.

Ivor i tend to agree in many respects mate, i do have a nasty suspicion that this is all aimed at Israel and the israeli,s have always been bringing pressure to bear on the US and UK if only by threatening to do something themselves unless the yanks and/or us do it first. I have a suspicion as well that this whole scenario is designed to allow the Muslim fundamentalists to gain power in a large area of North Africa this will in my view result in the various terrorist Organisations having a major power/training base from which to attack the west, i hope im wrong in this though.
All i can say is god help us if either the Syrian rabble or an Egyptian faction attack Israel because all hell will break loose in the area
