Ex WO2 Tony Miles - SWB/RRW
I have just read on the other Site that ex WO2 Tony Miles has passed away in Crete. He had been suffering from Leukae'mia for a while. Tony was my 1st Pl Sgt when I joined JS Coy in the Depot. He then rejoined the Bn in Osnabruck were he became Provost Sgt. He was an outstanding SNCO who we all knew not to cross. Strict but fair. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. RIP Welsh Warrior. Braz

Re: Ex WO2 Tony Miles - SWB/RRW
Tony was a hard man in more ways than one. When he was Provost Sgt in Osnabruck he and the RSM Noddy Amphlett were conducting a recce on the local railhead in advance of a Bn APC move by rail. Tony was hit by an express train and suffered serious head injuries resulting in him having a metal plate inserted in his skull. In typical Army sense of humour style whenever WO2 Tony Miles was ranting at some out of order soldier his SNCO’s would say its ok “he has a lot on his plate” But never to his face.
RIP Tony as Braz rightly said “firm but fair”

I was at Depot when Tony was CSM. He was hard, but a very fair man.
RIP Tony
