    A Jock Fusilier

My Brother in Law Joe Farrell who served a full career in the Scots guards put this on his facebook page today. Interesting in that his dad who was from Edinburgh and RA which were converted to Inf (RWF)

"My Hero my Dad Harry Farrell 1918-1997 loss of right eye 4 fingers left hand gunshot wounds hill 112 outside Caen Normandy 1944 RIP Dad ,for our freedom and the men and women like you aye"

Thanks Colin, always interesting to read stories like this. The picture of Harry shows him in RWF uniform. I have to say it looks like the type of uniform worn prior to WW2. I wonder if he was a member of the 71st Anti Tank Regiment RA (RWF). This was formed at the outbreak of War from RWF TA units in the Hawarden and Buckley area, could Harry have been living in N Wales prior to the war commencing?. The BD he is wearing doesn't look like WW2 vintage to my untrained eye. The 71st saw service at Hill 112. It would be interesting to know his service. Noted his MID.
