Re: Researching william henry jones
The only additional info ive found so far is that he joined the 16th RWF , does this narrow the search down by much?

Re: Researching william henry jones
The 16th Bn had numbers in the 18000 to 19999 range.
Likely candidate:
William H Jones, Pte 18933
Enlisted 15/12/1914
Landed 25/05/1915
Discharged medically unfit (sickness) 01/10/1917
Hope this helps.

Re: Researching william henry jones
Jones 18933's enlistment date is from his entry in the Silver War Badge records.
I cannot find any other candidates in the 16th RWF number range.

Re: Researching william henry jones
If we accept the William Jones may have enlisted without divulging his middle name, I can suggest some more possible candidates in the 16th Bn number series:
Jones William
Royal Welsh Fusiliers 18539 Serjeant
Royal Flying Corps 146508 Serjeant
Jones William
Royal Welsh Fusiliers 18634 Private
Jones William
Royal Welsh Fusiliers 18805 Private
Labour Corps 160368 Private
Jones William
Royal Welsh Fusiliers 19921 Private
Jones William
Royal Welsh Fusiliers 19067 Private
No surviving service or pension records, I'm afraid.
