    Scam emails

On checking my mail a few minutes I received the following email. anyone else get it ?

    Hello,

I'm writing this with great grievance . I'm presently in Barcelona,Spain. with my Family for a short vacation and we're stuck...And really it was unannounced. We were attacked by four armed robbers on our way back to the hotel where we lodged.we were robbed and completely embarrassed.

All our cash, credit cards and cellphone were stolen. We've reported the incident to the embassy and the Police but to my dismay they seem not bothered...their response was just too casual. Our flight leaves in few hours but We've got to settle our bills before We're allowed to leave....Now am freaked out....Please I need you to loan some money,I promise to refund you as soon as I'm back home. All i need is $1,650 .. Please Let me know what you can do?Write me back so I can tell you how to get it to me..

    Thanks for this Colin.
They seem to be doing the rounds again.

I and some other forum members received similar mails last year.
apparently from ex bandsman Jake Nunney in the states it turned out that his account had been hacked.
it is all ways worth checking even when the mail is from a friend...
    ANY INFO IS GOOD INFO;

    Re: Scam emails

This morning i tried to access my hotmail account and was informed by the hotmail team that someone else had been using my account and for security reasons had blocked my account, so if anyone has received any e-mails from me since 21:00 last night, i never sent them so please don't reply.

    Re: Scam emails

I have been away for the last 5 days and opening an e-mail account and found the following e-mails:

    Royal Mail - Shipping advisory

Services@Paypal - Notification of payment received

    Notification@fedex - Tracking notification

    UPS - Delivery notification

As this is only a receiving e-mail address, i delete them without opening them

I check my security applications at least 3 times a week, just to be on the safe side
