G4s would pay approx £9 per hour for the contract depending what level of security you are at. This is an overexagerated rate taking into consideration London Waiting. They would not pay what they do not have to. Do not work for them but for a competitor who recommended that we concentrate on the customers we have and not involve ourselves with the Olympics or volunteer to do so.

    Re: army pay

Looking at the pay scales, based on a 40 hour week (ho ho) a Corporals hourly wage is roughly £14/15 an hour. This of course takes into account the X and Y factor which I was always led to believe was built into pay reviews to take into account "extra hours" worked in addition to daily duties i.e Guard/Weekend duty. No idea if that is true or not, but it is not enough for a soldier with as much experience in my view.

If I can help somebody as I pass along, my living will not be in vain.

After a quick look on the net it seems an Army Corporal earns between £27,000 to £33,000. My mates son works permanent nights restocking a store and is paid the minimum wage, approx £13,000 for his efforts with 4 weeks paid holiday.
