Re: Cliquey
cliquenoun /klēk/ /klik/
cliques, plural
A small group of people, with shared interests or other features in common, who spend time together and do not readily allow others to join them
Well, we're not so small a group, we do have shared interests etc in common but we readily allow others to join us.
Conclusion - Fail!

Re: Cliquey
I just nip in and out, and if it wasn't for the regular contributors I believe the site would be a much less interesting place, there's always something to catch your eye, even if the chat is not about DELTA'S.
. Thanks everyone

Re: Cliquey
I remember as a young Lcpl, myself and three other lads (Dilwyn may recall) were accused of being a Clique by a young-ish Ofiicer. Once I had looked up what it meant (pre EPC trained at this point) I remember feeling quite put out that he felt that way and disagreed with his view completely. We never saw eye to eye again throughout our careers. I hope ,that early into his career he learned the difference between a Clique and the close friendship that bonds a group of comrades. If not, he missed out on so much.
Judging from the response to this thread (thanks), I think it is fair to say that claim of Forum being Cliquey is not a true reflection of the site. It is true that the same names appear constantly but for me that is better than nothing appearing on the Forum at all. I look at the list of members below who have read this thread and I see many faces and characters that I have had the privilege to know and serve with. I know that these guys have tales to tell and humour to share ........if only.
Contributors keep contributing, readers keep reading and to those who just seek to find fault.......whatever floats your boat.

it might be of interest to know what exactly makes your friend think the forum is cliquy, if he is prepared to share his oppinion with us, then maybe we can do something to change it.

Re: Cliquey
In response to the complete thread, I agree with what has been said by all contributors. There are members who come on the site, look and leave without saying or doing anything. Yet, there are others, like myself, who contribute to the forum on a dail basis; I know my contribution is to VBookie and the Caption Competion but at least I do something.
Regarding FB and the Forum, of late I have seen things on FB that have not appeared on the Forum, which I find very strange. People must remember that not all Forum users go on FB, therefore anything that is applicable to both could be put on both.

Re: Cliquey
Ivor,
I think on reflection my friend and any others who share his original thoughts would rethink the term Cliquey and agree that the same names appearing all of the time is just a matter of fact rather than a closed shop.
Rog,
I see where you are coming from but you have to remember fb is a different kettle of fish. Some are more comfortable saying what they like on fb without censorship or a care to who or what may be offended by their comments. This Forum (thankfully) has higher standards. I myself enjoy a great deal of banter on fb with a number of members, the content of which may be found very monotonous and boring for this Forums readers, so I stick to fb - horses for courses. What people decide to put on the Forum is down to the individual and there is no "should" do about it. "Could", I think is a better word in this case and after reading your post it may inspire some to do exactly that.
If I can help somebody as I pass along, my living will not be in vain.
