Re: Oil free or Oil filled

I've got an oil-filled one, I have had oil-free ones and I'd say that the oil-filled ones take longer to heat up, but once they are heated up, they kick in less often and not for as long - probably because the oil-free ones have just the metal to cool - just like a saucepan of boiling water will cool slower than it will if you tip the water out but would heat up faster if there was no water in.

    Here's a discussion anyway - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=1140161

Hello, I expect the oil filled rads are better made today than in previous years. I bought an oil filled rad some years ago and a welding spot blew and I had oil all over the wall it was standing by and the floor was covered in oil as well. Food for thought perhaps.RBD aka jungle1810
