    Tom Clear

It is with great sadness that I have to post that our comrade Tom Clear passed away on Tuesday evening 22/11. Tom was Swansea Branchs' oldest member and had just had his 91st birthday. Tom was a proud Royal Welchman but had not enjoyed good health in the last six years. Tom joined the regiment (2nd Battalion) in Wrexham in 1938 on a 6 month trial (which was possible then) and was immediately called up from his job in London on the outbreak of war. He was evacuated from Dunkirk in May 1940 and went on to serve in Madagascar and later Burma. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on 5th December at Margam Crematorium, Port Talbot.

He will be sadly missed by us all but may he rest in peace.
