    Baking "no probs"

The long haired general (Mrs John) is in Ireland for a week. So today I did some housework, did my ironing, walked the dog and watched some rugby. However I was still bored so for the first time ever I tried my hand at baking by following a cook book. The results are shown below one jam tart and one apple pie. I have to admit the Jam tart was gopping (too much jam) but even though I say so myself the apple pie was very tasty. On reflection this could prove to be a big mistake, I was bragging to the Mrs on the phone who now wants me to bake her one.

Colin that jam tart looks absolute perfection to me. Well cooked not gooey, with plenty of jam. You are talented mate!
If I can help somebody as I pass along, my living will not be in vain.

They look very good Colin. You have now got a problem, pursuading Mrs John that this is a one off and not a standing order. As Gwyn has said 'you are talented'.

I looked at the photo before I read the text and I was convinced it was a picture of a poster from Greggs in Porthcawl!

    Colin,

ALWAYS available to give you the benefit of my wide experience as a tart sampler - as long as you can meet the X2 outside Tesco's, to pick me up!
