On Saturday I will be laying a wreath for the Royal Welsh at St Fagan’s and on Sunday I will be laying a wreath for the 24ft the South Wales Borderers in Bridgend. I was at the Cenotaph in Bridgend at 1100 hrs today quite a good turnout, but I was disgusted to see a good number of people ( of all ages) walking through the parade during last post and the silence completely ignoring the event. What is this country coming to?

The problem today is a total lack of respect.if people have no respect for themselves or others how can you expect them to have any respect for the dead. how many times over the last few years have we heard about gravestones being damaged or memorials being defaced or broken.
Personally i am totally disgusted with the U.K. which is one reason why we spend most of our time in Malta.it has some problems but the family and the church are still important. there are a lot of elderly folks out here at this time of year and they can walk quite safely around most places without the fear of being robbed or assaulted.
someone needs to start teaching respect in the u.k. how ? corporal punishment,a clout round the ear,a kick up the ****.

this land was built from blood and tears
the sacrifice of 2000 years
the romas came the vikings too

I was privileged to lay a wreath of Poppies for the Royal Welsh today at St Fagan’s. The original war memorial which was erected in CaetwmpynPark Newbridge in 1936. However in recent years it became a constant target for mindless vandal's graffiti and defacement. In 1995 it was donated to the St.Fagans-Musem of Welsh Life near Cardiff, and was rededicated on October 19th 1996. "It stands as a memorial to all those men and women of Wales who gave their lives for their county “What was especially nice at this remembrance service was the amount of children involved in laying wreaths. They were from various schools, guides, junior 1^st Aid etc.

to march, to sail, to fly.
They went where they were posted but nobody went to die.
Their leaders talk on TV, what else could we have done?
But those leaders lost no daughters and none has lost a son.
So here's to all our soldiers wherever they may be...
and here's to all their families, I raise a glass to thee.
