A Good Book for a Xmas Present
On Friday night I was privileged to attend a lecture at the International Politics Department at Aberystwyth University given by Lord Morris of Aberavon (John Morris). Lord Morris served in the RWF as an officer in the early 1950's and since his election to the House of Commons in 1959 and now in the House of Lords he has provided 50 years of exemplary public service.
His autobiography "Fifty Years in Politics and the Law" is a compelling read and although his political leanings are not quite the same as mine his candor and storytelling shows the metal of a Royal Welchman......I have great pleasure in recommending this book as a good read and an excellent present.
His picture on the front cover shows him wearing our regimental tie with pride as he did and does when in both Houses' of Parliament.
