Sentimental or just a tight git?
I started this thread on the Royal Welsh Veterans in response to a member looking to replace his old blazer.
Seeing Tony Kane’s (TK) post on his need for a blazer got me thinking. What article of clothing have you still got that go back over a long period of time? In my caseI still occasionally wear a suit which was made by the Yuen brothers tailors in Stanley Fort Hong Kong in 1991.I was also gutted having recently to replace a blazer made by the Yuen’s at the same time, it still fitted but was starting to fall apart. Not bad considering both articles are over 20 years old. I also am fond of a pair of double soled black brogues (1992) which I still wear. My daughters are constantly taking the p*** about this and I await some mickey taking from members of the site.
So come on own up, what are you clinging on to because of sentiment or just simply a tight git like me.

Re: Sentimental or just a tight git
My Blazer. Nothing special about it and I have had it for 20 odd years. It has "fitted" "nearly fitted" " not really fitted" and at present fits a treat. The wife says it looks a little shabby and well worn, bit like me really. I keep looking for a new one when we go out shopping but as yet, have not found one that is quite right. Not tight, just comfortable.
If I can help somebody as I pass along, my living will not be in vain.

Re: Sentimental or just a tight git
My RWF Rugby V necked pullover. This wonderful artice is still in full working order, washes like a rag and is worn (during the winter months) at every Aberystwyth RFC game over my club shirt (committte man)....Never having been small, it has stretched quite a bit even from my army days but fits like a glove. Purchased in 1980 in Lemgo its 31 years old.....they don't make them like that anymore!

Colin,
Thread moved in order to give a wider viewing rather than being tucked away in Jokes & Humour sub forum.
However, having rated it Good in Jokes & Humour I've left you with the 4000 credits!

Still wearing my Mess Dress bought of Paul Davies 01 MBE in 1982 for £50.00.
Wore it for 17 years from Sgt to WO1 RWF then gave it a rest for 7 years in the RLC and have worn it the last 6 years with 3 R WELSH.
5 years to go before I finish and I will wear it on my dinning out
