    Re: COW

I hear 94 took his own life. This is doubly sad. If only 'our family' members who have troubles would speak to those they have served with in the past they might be able to help them deal with, or solve, their problems. The Regiment has a support system via Des Williams at RHQ. Perhaps some are too embarrased to ask for help. All must know they shouldn't be. God bless, Cow. You have been a wonderfully loyal soldier and will be sadly missed by all who knew you.

    Re: COW

Oh Lord. So sad in itself to read that 'Cow' had passed away, but then to read Bob Lloyd's entry was doubly saddening.

A character, a strong supporter of Regiment and Company and a damn hard grafter. Anyone from the Battalion in his day would have known him.

For his family, a loss which happens in such a way must be achingly sad and difficult to take in. Our thoughts are with them.

The Funeral details for Cpl Gareth Jones have now been confirmed. A service will take place at Aberdare Cremortorium, Llwydcoed, CF44 0DJ at 1120hrs on 05th July 2011. Those in attendance are requested to wear Service Dress if serving or wear something Red in tribute to Gareths love of Welsh Rugby, the family request that the dress code suit individuals. All are welcome to attend a wake at The Infantry Battle School, Dering Lines, Brecon, LD3 7RA from 1230hrs. People are asked to respect the necessity to follow Military booking in procedures at Dering Lines & should bring sufficient ID. The family request that in the place of flowers, donations be made to Penmaes School (special needs school attended by Gareth & Jackie's son Louis) or The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, collection buckets will be in place at the Cremortorium & wake. The family request your attendance in memory of Gareth.
